 i will show the cross-cultural connections between Jews and non-Jews in th
 e Middle East through music. \n \nDr. Dardashti was born into a musical fa
 mily.  Her grandfather\, Yona Dardashti was a popular singer of classical 
 Persian music in Iran and her father\, who sang opera\, became a cantor in
  the United States.  She has performed throughout the United States and Is
 rael\, including significant cantorial work. \n \nGaleet holds a Ph.D in A
 nthropology in contemporary Middle Eastern/Arab music.  She gives workshop
 s\, lectures and leads services in the Persian tradition. \n \nThis is a f
