7 PM Tuesday, April 2: The Cousin
Naftali lives with his wife and two children in a village in the center of Israel. For a long time he has been dreaming of renovating his studio. Early in the morning he sets out to collect Said, a Palestinian worker who comes highly recommended by his gardener. Under a highway overpass, several workers lunge at Naftali's car. One of them makes his way into his passenger seat, identifying himself as Said. As they drive away, “Said” turns out to be Said’s cousin Fahed, who talks Naftali into giving him a chance at the project.

Later a terrible act occurs and the locals at the village immediately suspect Fahed. Naftali is the only one that can back-up Fahed’s account of what happened.

The Cousin is a frightening story but it is also full of humor. The on-going dispute between Palestine and Israel has never been shown in such a way. At the same time it comes from a very real angle, that can be understood by everyone, in every place. [2016, Israel, 90 minutes, in Hebrew and Arabic with English subtitles, Not Rated].
