Thursday, October 10, 2024
5:00 pm6:30 pm
118 Purnell Hall, University of Delaware

In this lecture, Dr. Magda Teter of Fordham University explores the deeply connected roots of modern antisemitism and anti-Black racism. In a powerful historical narrative spanning nearly two millennia, Teter describes how theological and legal frameworks created by the church centuries ago led to legal exclusion, persecution, and a denial of equality and rights to both Jews and Black people. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the University of Delaware's Jewish Studies Program and Department of History. Networking and light refreshments begin at 5:00 pm and the lecture at 5:30 pm.
