Qi Gong Workshop

Cultivate body, breath, and mind at the J!

Qi Gong (pronounced, "chee kung") is a series of flowing exercises developed in ancient China thousands of years ago. Like its better-known cousin, Tai Chi, these gentle, moving postures have exploded in popularity for their ease in learning and their proven physical and mental health benefits.

Join us in the Auditorium at the J on Sunday, March 30th for a 3-hour Qi Gong workshop from 9 AM - 12 PM. During the workshop, we will hear a bit about the history and many health benefits of this remarkable form of exercise. We will practice a specific sequence of postures known as 8 Brocades Qi Gong. We will also learn simple warmup exercises, self-massage, and meditation to enhance our practice.

The workshop is appropriate for all ages and physical conditions and can be practiced standing or sitting. The workshop will be taught by Dr. Seth Torregiani, a practicing physician and certified Qi Gong instructor at the Siegel JCC.
