This presentation provides an overview of the historical and contemporary forms of antisemitism, exploring how anti-Jewish sentiments have persisted and evolved over time. It examines the role of stereotypes, conspiracy theories, and societal factors in shaping antisemitic attitudes today. In conclusion, the presentation addresses the recent escalation of antisemitism following October 7th, 2023, highlighting the intensified threats, misinformation, and challenges faced by Jewish communities worldwide. It emphasizes the need for increased awareness, education, and collective action to counteract this rising wave of hatred in the modern era.

Evan R. Bernstein is the Vice President of Community Relations for Jewish Federations. His team aims to help communities strengthen civic and interfaith engagement, counter rising antisemitism. Prior to joining Jewish Federations, Bernstein served as CEO of Community Security Service (CSS). While there he developed formal partnership agreements across the Federation system and overall Jewish community including the Secure Community Network.

Bernstein has over 25 years of nonprofit experience that includes serving as Vice President of the Northeast Division for the ADL and as the state director for AIPAC in Arizona. In 2019, The Bridge Multicultural Advocacy Project of New York honored Bernstein with their annual Unity Award for his work in long time work in community relations and combatting antisemitism. He earned his bachelor's degree from Western Connecticut State University and his master's degree from Harvard University.
