  • WHAT ARE THE TRIP DATES?

    Monday, October 16 - Sunday, October 22, 2023

  • WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
    • $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure space on the Mission. The balance of the fees for the Mission are due in full on August 1, 2023. Deposit payment is due within 10 days to secure your spot on the mission.
    • Mission cost will be between $5,395 to $5,947 per person depending on the number of participants (a minimum of 25 people needed for the Mission). 
    • There is a supplement fee of $1,919 for a single room, if desired, in addition to the Mission cost.
    • JFD is offering a generous limited-time subsidy of $1,500 per person for the Mission (maximum family subsidy of $4,500), with thanks to the Grant Family Fund. The subsidy will be deducted from your final balance due on August 1.
    • All Mission participants are required to make a minimum household gift of $500 to the JFD 2023 Annual Campaign.  
    • Airline travel and any extensions in Israel before or after the Mission are not included in the Mission cost. 
    • Personal travel and medical insurance are not included in the Mission cost but are highly recommended for each participant. Kenes has recommended the following website: [will add link once we receive it]
  • WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

    100% of the Mission cost will be refunded (minus the $500 deposit) if you cancel by Monday, July 31st. Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing Wendy Berger at Wendy@ShalomDel.org or Seth Katzen at Seth@ShalomDel.org.

  • WHAT IS THE COVID POLICY THAT WILL BE UPHELD ON THE TRIP?

    We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and are working with our partners in Israel to ensure your safety. Your health and the health of others is our top priority. Proof of full vaccination (FDA or EMA approved vaccines) is required. In accordance with the recommendations of the Director General of the Ministry of Health of the State of Israel, you are required to have a health insurance policy with coverage for the treatment abroad of the COVID-19 virus. Travelers are required to have a health insurance policy with coverage for the treatment abroad of the COVID-19 virus. Any coverage that goes beyond that is at the choice of the participant. Please visit the Israel’s Ministry of Health website, the CDC website and the U.S. Department of State website for their latest travel policies.

  • WHAT IS THE COVID CANCELLATION POLICY?

    In the event of cancellation of the mission due to unforeseen circumstances as it relates to COVID-19, fees paid towards registration and prepaid other fees will be refunded to the extent we receive refunds from our vendors and suppliers.

    To ensure travel peace of mind, we strongly encourage mission participants to purchase travel insurance.  While we will do our best to secure refunds from any Israeli vendor who has been paid, we cannot guarantee the amount that will be returned.  Please refer to the question below “Is trip insurance required?” for more information.

  • WHAT IF ISRAEL CLOSES ITS BORDERS DUE TO COVID? WILL I BE REFUNDED?

    In the event that Israel closes its borders due to COVID-19, we will be working with our partners at Kenes Tours to issue refunds to our participants.

  • IS TRIP INSURANCE REQUIRED?

    Trip insurance is not required, but we strongly encourage Mission participants to purchase the level of travel insurance they feel will provide them with travel peace of mind.

  • IS A DONATION TO THE JEWISH FEDERATION EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE?

    All Mission participants are required to make a minimum household gift of $500 to the JFD 2023 Annual Campaign.  

  • ARE ALL MEALS INCLUDED? IF NOT, WHICH ONES ARE INCLUDED?

    Daily breakfast at the hotels are included

    Most lunches

    Five dinners including:

    • A festive welcome party and dinner at the Museum of The Jewish People museum.
    • Dinner at a local restaurant.
    • Gala Dinner and Party at Kfar Hanokdim Bedouin Resort.
    • A private Shabbat dinner at a special location
    • Farewell dinner at the Patio of Beit Shmuel.
  • WHAT WILL THE WEATHER IN ISRAEL BE THAT TIME OF YEAR?

    The average temperature in Israel in October during the day is 75*F degrees with the lowest going down to 57*F degrees. The average daily temperature remains somewhere around 66*F degrees.

  • WILL THERE BE ANY FREE TIME ON THE MISSION FOR ME TO CONNECT WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY IN ISRAEL?

    We have a packed itinerary planned, but some of the evenings will be free so you can meet up with friends. If your schedule allows, you are welcome to arrive in Israel prior to the start of the mission or stay after the mission is complete and spend time with family and friends. If you need help making hotel arrangements, please let us know and we will put you in touch with a travel agent at Kenes Tours.
